Over the past year I’ve lived by the mantra “life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” The times I’ve taken steps to try new things have led to the most rewarding experiences. I’ve been an ambassador for South Florida Ford for over a year now, and I have seen so much personal growth through this thing I get to call “work.” As an ambassador for SFF I am constantly having new experiences; whether it’s attending a Gala, supporting cancer research, covering South Florida music, or raising awareness for Autism, I am blessed to constantly be out in the community involved in all these great events.
In the midst of all of this, I had the opportunity to participate in Miss West Broward 2015. With nothing to lose, and one of my dearest friends (former Miss Bahamas Universe) Anastagia Pierre to show me the ropes, I took the challenge head on. Now, three months after taking home that crown I have just under 50 days before I compete for the title of Miss Florida USA 2015.
My journey into the world of pageantry has been a whirlwind. From interview and walking (yes, walking.) practice.. to photo shoots.. to getting my butt to bootcamp 4 days a week (sometimes 5!) I have experienced first hand that there’s more to “pageant girl” than meets the eye. I am in the home stretch of my preparation for Miss Florida USA, and over the next few weeks I’m going to give an uncensored glimpse into the glamorous, and not so glamorous, life on the #SFFRoad2Crown! I’ll share my triumphs, my struggles and even the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way. At the end of the day, I hope that I will have inspired at least one person to step out of their oh so cozy comfort zone.
