Everyone in Florida is all too familiar with hurricanes and how much destruction they can really inflict. We Floridians have become so jaded that most of us won’t even prepare unless it’s a category 2 and above. So when Hurricane Sandy ravaged parts of the Northeast, we knew all too well what those folks were dealing with. Andrew Carmellini and his team at The Dutch have decided to put together a benefit with the help of those crazy Cobaya boys.
Priced at $250 per person all-inclusive, the special evening will bring together some of our region’s most notable chefs including:
Andrew Zimmern’s AZ Canteen
Not to mention, The Dutch’s top notch culinary team, chef de cuisine Conor Hanlon, pastry chef Josh Gripper and head bartender Rob Ferrara will all be on hand for this event. Guests can expect signature dishes and chef favorites for each course, expertly paired with wine and cocktails.
The evening starts at 7:00 p.m. with cocktails by BarLab and The Dutch’s Rob Ferrara and canapés in the lush Grove at W South Beach followed by dinner on The Terrace at The Dutch. Guests can expect a silent auction featuring an array of items from a two-night stay at the W South Beach in a luxury VIP suite, to autographed cookbooks and dinner certificates, as well as the opportunity to rally alongside these renowned chefs for this precious cause.
ALL Proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will go directly to NYC Food Flood, started in concert by Carmellini and fellow New York chefs, Marco Canora, Seamus Mullen and George Mendes, joining efforts to generate funds directed to relief efforts in their own backyard.
Reservations are limited for the Hurricane Relief Dinner on Sunday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. and can be made by visiting http://thedutchsandyrelief.eventbrite.com or calling (305) 938-3111.
