Picture an experience that combines space and sound, where you can contribute your voice to a sonic art piece. That was the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) last week during its Third Thursday Poplife Social event where Fordistas previewed its experimental sound art project, unreserved.
Guests, including the PAMM Contemporaries Steering Committee board, artists, community friends and family gathered to celebrate, collaborate, and contribute their unique perspectives.
Upon entering the PAMM’s luxurious event space, guests downloaded unreserved from the app store and began experimenting. Onscreen prompts along with those physically stationed around the stunning parking structure and surrounding museum gardens asked participants to reveal personal, playful and cerebral bits of themselves–– without reservation. The words, beats, laughter, whispers and sounds of each of the guests merged into an acoustic collage layered in geographic space.
It was a transcendent experience where everyone had the opportunity to be an artist with something to say and something to capture. This December 1st, you can participate by downloading unreserved from the app store and attending the official launch of this innovative location-based audio project during Miami Art Week.
Come experiment with us.
The collaborative effort will be available for public viewing in the form of a sound installation where the voices will come together in a sonic and visual collective conversation at Fordistas Gallery and neighboring Butter Gallery. Join us at 2930 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33127 on December 1, 2015 at 7:00 pm to experience the blending of the community’s Miami Art Week experiences one layer of sound at a time.
