On April 11, 2014, we joined forces with Autism Speaks to host an intimate, one-of-a-kind evening in honor of Light it Up Blue and World Autism Month. There was music, blue-inspired cocktails, hor’ d’oeuvres, a silent auction and dare we say it – a little magic in the air. Set on the 7th floor of the stunning 11 11 Lincoln Road, folks from all over South Florida came together to help raise Autism awareness and experience quite the visual treat.
We partnered with Miami and Madrid-based Tecné Collective to deliver the most visually immersive experience for guests. The group of world-renowned digital artists created “Same World, Different Perspectives”, a video-mapping installation that tells the story of Autism Spectrum Disorder like it has never been told before. With images precisely video mapped onto the windows of three Ford C- Max’s, the center car represented the world as experienced by an average individual, while the other two cars represented the autistic perspective – from perceptual challenges and breaking points to the advantages unique to the condition. The visual installation also included images of children’s art graciously provided by HighPoint Academy as well as eye-opening facts and relevant data.
150 guests were inspired to raise awareness and donations for the cause – including bidding on a silent auction featuring artwork from some of our most talented Fordistas artists (100% of which proceeds went to Autism Speaks).
For an intimate look at the evening and to hear what South Florida Ford Chairman Allan Young and guests had to say about the experience, take a look at the video above and our gallery below.
