Alejandro Franco’s Entering the dARK: A Labor of Love

 On August 8, 2015, Butter Gallery, in collaboration with Fordistas, opened its doors to the public where the Medellin-born/Miami- based artist, Alejandro Franco, presented Entering the dARK.  The exhibition itself, a piece on animal extinction based on the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, is a recreation of both meaning and medium.

Franco’s work encourages us to reflect on our impact as humans on the ecosystem as well as the poetic value of discarded and then found objects. We talked to the artist about the inspiration behind his workmanship and artistry.
