10 books to inspire you in 2016

The new year signifies a powerful time of change for many of us. Although any time in our life is ripe for the taking, when the clock changes and our attention as a collective is brought to the significant passing of another year, there’s undeniable magic in the air– if for no other reason but all the good intentions surrounding us.

If you’re into astrology, you’ll know this year we begin 2016 in a Mercury retrograde. What does that mean? Retrogrades signify when a planet passes the earth in its orbit (it slows down and appears to be stationary) and therefore the energies it governs can feel stagnant. In Mercury’s case that is communication, travel and technology; so, we can expect hiccups in these areas. However, on a more positive note, whenever any planet retrogrades it urges us into a period of reflection (it’s tough to move things forward, so it’s like the universe’s way of clearing out the space to look within). Exploring our past habits, relationships, mistakes and triumphs provide a rich canvas for transformation. It’s one of the most meaningful ways to come to crazy awesome breakthroughs and become the person you want to be.

Here are 10 highly recommended books to cozy up at home with during the first few retrograde weeks of 2016.
